The measures of the PÄRM project support the strengthening of workforce skills and re-employment in companies in the region.
Employer and employment training organized for companies during 2025 has reached over 100 employees of companies operating in the Outokumpu Industrial Village. In addition, the project completed a study by VTT on Carbon Dioxide Sequestration in Mine Backfill.
The PÄRM project was extended until December 31, 2026.
– In the coming year, the key activities of the PÄRM project will be small group training tailored to companies and an employer pool survey to map short-term rental of workers between industrial companies, says Tuomo Roivas, CEO of Outokumpu Industrial Park Ltd.
With the extension, Outokumpu Regional Industrial Village Ltd has hired Henry Torn as project manager (30), who will be responsible for the PÄRM project starting from 1 January 2026 and will be a systems expert to renew, among other things, the information, facility and customer management systems of Outokumpu Industrial Village Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree (data processing science and business administration) and has worked in previous jobs, among other things, as a trading developer, business expert and project manager. Henry is already familiar with Outokumpu, as he is playing ice hockey for OoKoo for the third season.
